Dublin Backyard Paradise

We drew this garden once already. The house was a Parade of Homes property in 2009 and the original landscape was ours, so when the owners added a carriage house in a later remodel we knew exactly what was already in the ground.

The 2017 rebuild had to tie the old work to the new. The bluestone patio and the fireplace stayed and became the anchors; a fountain, a bar and the carriage house were set against them so the garden reads as one piece rather than two projects eight years apart.

The design was modelled in 3D first, which let the owners walk the finished garden before a shovel went into the ground. It went on to win a 2018 Ohio Landscape Award.
