Hilliard Poolside Escape

The garden arrived split in two. A fence ran between the pool and the outdoor living area, so the family used one or the other and never both.

Taking the fence out was the whole idea. With the pool and the living area folded into a single space, the garden stopped feeling like a yard with a pool in it and started feeling like somewhere you would book.

A fireplace with a built-in pizza oven and a custom bar and grill gave the space a reason to be used outside pool season. Landscape lighting finished it, carrying the garden into the evening rather than ending it at sunset. The project won a 2016 Ohio Landscape Award.
